Got my red HK version SX833 (sharp903 for UK ) 2wks ago and since then have tried in vain to install mp3 ringtones...always says illegal file or file too large...WTF??

super expensive fone but can't play mp3 or wav for ringtones....only midis or mmfs....geez!

anyhow...bright side is...GREAT SCREEN and GREAT CAMERA w/ AMAZING video capabilities! the red color isn't too bad either...you'll get used to it

OK, I searched the threads and couldn't find an answer why I can't use mp3's as ringtones when it says clearly in the manual I CAN!!! what the heck is DRM anyway too? plz help....thanks....

I read all the reviews and user notes on his experience of the Black UK 903SH version. He said it's capable to set .MP3 as ringtones but ONLY in phone's internal memory and under 1MB or so. you can prob try 1.5-2.0MB. He wasn't sure where exactly was the limit. At first he tested to be 300kb, but after he tried with 1mb mp3 file, it's still capable to set as ringtone as well.

let me know as I'm more leaning towards the SX833 than the UK version 903 for its Tranditional Chinese language.

I tried it again....this time I even chose an mp3 file that was less than 50kb and everytime I try to assign it as a ringtone to a certain phone number, it says " illegal file "
I don't know what i'm doing wrong and maybe the phone just doesn't accept mp3 ringtones but only plays it on the music player ( like an Ipod )
I can't read chinese so the website you gave me www.sogi.com.tw can't work for me
