v551 Freezes After Updating Skin File

Hi all,

I have a Motorola v551 phone. I haven't changed the firmware version. I installed a new skin from motomodders and it worked fine. I was changing the layout (carrier, date, time position, etc.) and it worked fine. After I loaded it a few times with updated changes, it was working okay. After I restarted the phone after I updated the changes again, the phone freezes on the boot up. After it gets to "Searching for Network" it hangs and freezes. The only way to get the phone off is by removing the battery. I have tried bootloader and the computer will recognize it. I have tried plugging it into the charger without the battery and it can turn on. The battery is fully charged. Any reason why it keeps freezing?

All help is appreciated.

EDIT: The startup screen loads. The Greeting loads. Searching for Network Loads. I can get as far as Registering. Then it freezes. I can get to bootloader. Phone is Cingular branded.

Another Edit: If I put the phone on the charger with the battery in it, it starts to charge. For some reason, it powers on and is even able to get a signal. If I open the top though, the screen is just white and the phone freezes...

I was able to flash the phone and now it's fine. I'm really confused as to why it just stopped working out of no where. I lost my phonebook and everything, since I had it stored to the phone and not to the SIM. Oh well...

i have a lg vx5200 that freezes at boot up but does not get a signal i wonder if i have to flash it as well ??

how did you get the computer to recognize it?
