letstalk.com vs. Cingular NBO

Is there some catch to letstalk.com I'm missing? I can get the 6682 from them for $249 with a 1-year extension, or I can get it from NBO for $269 and a 2-year. Why would I get it from NBO (I've already ordered it from NBO, though)?

Is the letstalk.com 6682 unbranded?

No, probably not. Since it is under that Cingular section it probably will be a cingular branded phone. Letstalk is selling it for $399 without contract which IMO is not a bad deal.

Letstalk.com seems to be a really good deal for new activations as well. I am considering opening a new line with Cingular for the $149 deal on the 6682.

People seem to be pleased with letstalk's service as well.

If it's rebates getting it to that price there is a catch. They make you pay full price then you get the rebate after 180 days of service in good standing. So yes you get the rebate but it takes several months.

I know at least for the no-contract price and the 2-year extension, there's no rebate involved whatsoever. If i can find out for sure that they wont screw up my grandfathered media works, imma order it tonight.

here's a little secret about Letstalk.com...

their "contract extensions" usually end up being brand new contracts. so lets say that you have an oldy but goody Cingular rate plan thats long been expired and you just simply want to buy a 6682 from Letstalk with a 1 year extension. Letstalk will actually kill your current oldy but goody plan (along with your current SIM card) and they will take it upon themselves to give you a completely new rate plan and so on...

I know this because it happened to me back in April and I was so mad. they took my 400 + 400 anytime minutes for $39/month plan and they basically threw it out the window when all I wanted was to do a 1 year extension of my current rate plan.

so in the end, I got screwed out of my old rate plan and there wasnt a d@mn thing I could do about it. once your oldy but goody plan is whiped off your account, its next to impossible to get it back again. Letstalk.com apologized for my inconvience but there wasnt a d@mn thing that they could do about losing my oldy rate plan.

^ gee, imagine that...

letstalk.com is great except for their 7 days or 30 minutes return policy.

I would think so, but you can just call NBO up and have them put it back on.

Yeah, it sounds like you'd be screwed out of any old grandfathered plan.

I would be VERY, VERY carefull with that one because like I said above, once your current, grandfathered rate plan is taken away, it'll be gone for good.
