Hey, when I install the new ROM update on to my mpx220 will the contacts be erased? My contacts are NOT on my SIM card, they are just on the phones memory.

How do you copy your contacts from the MPx220 memory to it's sim card. I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks.

the SIM card cant hold more than one number for each contact, thats why I dont use it. I dont know how you can copy them. How can I backup my contacts on to my compy?

you must have office outlook installed on you computer, using activesync, once connected it will auto sync all contacts, task, calender and mail. on your pc.

where do I get office outlook?

buy the office 97, xp, 2000 or 2003 it's bundled in the package.
or it should come with the mpx 220, i got the outlook 2002 version with the phone, but i use the 2003 version

okay, i installed everything, and now my activesync shows that i can sync my contacts, but I can only sync from my compy to my phone, and I cant seem to find how to do it the other way around. How can I get my phone's contacts on to my compy? I have tried stuff in office outlook, but nothing seems to work? A lil help please?

it does it automatic, open outlook and click on the contact icon, you should see all your contact.

I see your problem with syncing is fixed, but I will explain how to copy to SIM card if anyone needs it. Open up your Contacts list, select a contact that you want to copy to your SIM car, Then select MENU, then select Save to SIM. You have to do each contact 1 at a time.
An alternative to this is getting Jeyo Mobile Companion. This program allows you to copy all your phone memory contacts to your SIM card at once. It also supposts SMS backup, Call History, System Information, Screen Capture, and Task Manager. Overall its a handy program to have.
I prefer the ActiveSync/Outlook backup method more. I do occasionally backup all my numbers onto my SIM card just in case. Like if my MPx220 breaks and I have to use a crappy phone that doesn't support ActiveSync. This way I will at least have everyones phone number on the SIM.
