What types of videos work on the 802SH? I have tried .mpg/.mpeg and .asf and they both dont work. I have a japanese 802SH flashed to english (dunno version) but I can play MP3's in my media player/sounds but can't set them to ring tones either. Any fix for that as well?

Thanks i use my cell phone alot for text and messages how is the T9 and the keypad response for text?Is battery life ok? Does it have any IM applications to chat ? Is the speaker and earpiece volumes really loud? Do u have chinese characters on your keypad? Keypad lights up good at night? How is the bluetooth integration does transfer files and used as a modem? Are the menus good and easy to use? Is the mp3 player loud and clear? Do the videos record clear and play back? Does this model have the ability to connect to the tv out port or is that just that 902?

hey just wondering how you got the mp3 to work on the 802sh? I have a new one I just purchased in HongKOng, but it will only play mmf.

Posted by: drewX2

i can play MP3's in My Items -> Sounds & Ringtones or in Media Player. Worked out of the box.

back to the subject....What file format do the videos need to be in for me to watch them on my phone?

Posted by: kideeboyee

i think they have to be in ASF or MP4 format. Here's a tutorial on how to make videos, http://www.debbybrown.f2s.com/sdguide/layout.htm try that out. oh yea, and i found the ebay seller. i wonder if he has the phone in blue. you planning on making a review for your phone?

802s cannot play asf files...they are capped at a certain kb i think 300 kb. upgrade to 902/903 no restricition on vids. i think 3gp works not sure if asf works.

802 and 902 have the same capabilities in terms of video. Both can play ASF and 3GP files without size restrictions.

i copy over two ASF files to My Items -> videos (one downloaded off the Video Thread and one I renamed to the correct naming standard) and both do not show up...Wrong place?

Posted by: AL9999

Yup, wrong place. They need to be renamed to MOL001.ASF or MOL002.ASF, etc., and placed in the SD_VIDEO folder of the memory card. I believe that once you record an ASF video with the phone the folder will appear, so then just drop your video in there and then you can play it.
