Difference between the P800 and Nokia 3650

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey guys,

Now that the P800 and 3650 are on their way out, what really is the difference between these phones? I can only find a few differences so far but I'd like your opinions too. So far:

1. P800 has touch screen
2. 3650 has video cam/built in speakerphone
3. P800 has 64K colour LCD and 3650 has 4K colour LCD
4. P800 has standard keypad layout and 3650 has that semi-circular layout
5. P800 uses memory stick duo and 3650 uses MMC (SD?)

What other differences are there? Both phones seem to be on the same level with only a few minor preferences. This new design in mobile phones is getting exciting!

BTW I have noticed that there are 3650's selling on eBay already. Are these phones even out to the public yet or are these eBay items, scams? When might we see these and the SE as an easy "legit" grab from the web? I look forward to your replies.

PS. I know this is the SE forum but I hope that there are Nokia readers in here so that I can get un-bias replies here!

P800 only have a 4k colour LCD to! NOT 64k!

but:
1.P800 is smaler
2.P800 has a bigger display
3.P800 has symbian 7, 3650 has symbian 6
4.I think P800 has a speakerphone to!

those 3650 that are on sale on ebay, i think most of them är scammers!

is that esato site wrong or is the 3650 only 800/1800? p800 is triband, has a larger screen, has more memory.

that's plenty of difference right there, if the esato information is accurate...

yup the 3650 is only for use in europe/asia....hence the 900/1800.

you can also tell by way nokia names their phones. any nokia that ends in a 50 is only dual band. if it ends in a 10 it is triband.

Actually the 3650 is triband...
Nokia 3650

hmmmm...i guess nokia named the phone incorrectly then.

it's good to know that it's triband though. then we can use it over here....woo hoo!

too bad this phone is also 4k colors!

That's totally wrong. Neither the 3210 or 3310 or 8210 or 7110 or 7210 or 8910 were tri-bands. But if they end with a 90 it's for the American network though.

Their naming convention WAS xx10 = 900 MhzGSM, xx20=800 TDMA xx30=1800GSM, xx50=900/1800 GSM dual, xx60 800/1900 TDMA dual band tri-mode, xx70=1900 CDMA, xx80=800/1900 AMPS/CDMA Dual band tri-mode, xx90=1900 GSM. This doesn't take into account the xxx5 models, some were refreshes of older product (I.E. 5165 an update of 5160). Now, I think they're just naming 'em at random.

7210 is tri-band....
p.s. those naming approaches don't really apply anymore... 00 series are coming, like 6100, 5100, 6800

Unbeatable? I think it's personal preferance.... remember when we thought the T68 was unbeatable? (I use one only because of the colour screen and can't afford anything else! )

I had the opportunity to play around with a 3650 at Comdex, and it's a not that bad of a phone. There is no PDA features on it like the P800 though. I personally would take the P800 over it.
