Do I need to subscribe to MSN Mobile Plus Edition to check my hotmail?

About 2 years ago, hotmail made it to where you had to subscribe to the MSN Mobile Plus Edition for $24.99 a year to let you have access to your hotmail via your cell phone (back then it was a Motorola V600). Do I still need to have that subscription to check my hotmail and visit mobile.msn.com?? (I currently have a Moto Mpx220 if that makes a difference since it's a microsoft phone).

Heck, that $24.99 would almost buy me a gallon of gas

No, if you want to check your mail via the hotmail mobile site it shouldn't cost you anything.

the best place to check your hotmail account is
mobile.msn.com There are tons of items including a link to the mobile version of Hotmail (specially formated for PPC and Smartphone displays) Maps & Directions, sports scores etc...

That's where I've been going the last year and a half..... I then got this renewal for the MSN mobile thing that I even forgot I had and was just making sure I didn't need it before I canceled it. thanks for the replys!!

I use this exclusively, mobile.msn.com, works like a charm and doesn't cost 25/year...also, you can buy HTTPMail for $6 and this will allow you to get notification of new hotmail (it checks every so often)...I use HTTPMail to know that I've gotten mail and then hit the mobile MSN site to check it...I could use my Outlook email on the phone itself to check Hotmail w/ the HTTPMail stuff, but I found I didn't like the Outlook client and having to 'flag for download' and I didn't want to wait for entire messages to come down to my phone over the slow GPRS connection...so this technique works great for me...just a thought...

Huh??? Makes me wonder what I've been paying $25 a year for the last couple of years for? I do know that my moto V600 wouldn't connect to hotmail unless I had the subscription, seems like things have changed for the better. Thanks for all the replys.
