Chatter or Snappermail?

Which one? And why?

Chatter has true push... snapper does not correct?

Any others have true Push email as well?

Chatter has real push email as long as your email server has IMAP. The way to get around it is to sign up for a free IMAP account (like fastmail.fm) then forward your emails to fastmail. It is really fast, as soon as the email hits fastmail, it is in my Treo (using Chatter). You might want to go to Chatteremail's website (www.chatteremail.com) for further info. I used to use snapper (enterprise edition, too!) but am now a real convert to Chatter.

Chatter.I was going to try both when I got my Treo,I never even got around to trying Snapper. When I first got my Treo I still had my Blackberry, once I installed Chatter-it was amazing to see the true push functionality with the device, and the cost savings it ultimately represented (although unfortunately the blackberry ended up being stolen before I had a chance to break the contract AND get my rebate ! ).Check out his website and his forums -the developer of the app is super responsive !

I went with SnapperMail, because I don't have an IMAP server to pull the email from. I set the preferences so that it fetches emails all the time. I think that suffice for me. Can Chatter store the emails on a SD card? If it does, I'll get Chatter..

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/hspr-H102; Blazer/4.0) 16;320x320)

r u kidding... I've been using snappermail since the treo was launched. It's push email on steroids. One of the best around and award winning. Once you try snappermail you'll never use any other email client again.

So Snapper does do push? I tried it out and I did not see that option.

I've used VersaMail, Snappermail and now Chatteremail. My preference is Chatteremail. i use fastmail.fm as my IMAP server.
Chatteremail is a fantastic program and the author (of Chatteremail) is constantly updating the program - and I do mean constantly, sometimes 2-4 times a day!

Chatteremail is true push emai.

(standard disclaimer) no ofiliatiaon to Chatteremail - just a happy customer.

the trial demo is limited...and yes it does do push....but one thing to be aware of is when you set intervals when u want to upload email....one of the bugs on the treo is that it doesn't disconnect your gprs connection....however Snappermail does....and it does it well. I highly recommend this email client......versamail....is a joke.....
Chatter mail is good also although not as pretty.

So can you store emails on the SD card?

With Chatteremail you can store emails (and automatically) on a SD card. I have mine set up to do that. Also it is true push email (when you have a IMAP mail server). There is no "interval" checking - its "always on" always ready to recieve - just like a Blackberry.

I have mine set to do a fast LED flash wherever there is unread mail. Great program.

The few times I've had major crashes were I've "lost" all the emails off my Palm - because I'm using a IMAP server with fastmail.fm - as soon as I turn on the Palm again - it downloads all the email I've lost!! - full ressurection. Hard to beat (BTW I think that is more of a standard IMAP feature than it is a Chatteremail feature). Great stuff.

Peace.

I absolutely LOVE Chatteremail. It is great and it is true push. I missed push when I switched from my Audiovox SMT 5600.

Versamail is the pits, and lately mine has become even crazier. When I switch to it, my whole screen turns white for over a minute sometimes while it "thinks" about loading. Blah.

1) AOL (AIM) has a free IMAP mail accounts which I use
2) Chatter is really the only true push (snapper does do IMAP) but as fas as i can tell you still need it to check/signon every time
Yet I have a question. Has anyone configured chatter to send email by GMAIL? i get error every time i try.

I use Chattermail, and am really happy with it. I am using a fastmail.fm account for IMAP service, I think the domain is actually jetemail.com. Anyway I have my gmail account fwd to the fastmail account, then it is pushed from there to my treo. Amazingly fast, I get it on my treo before I get it on my pc. When I reply from my fastmail account I am using gmail's stmp. galambo, if you go over to treocentral, there is a thread with instructions on setting up the gmail send.

(I am not affiliated with chattermail. Just another happy customer.)
