Where is store located, that had the demo? inquiring minds want to know

demos all feel cheap. That keeps people from stealing them - sometimes

Posted by: VTECaddict

was it a live functional phone, or a dummy model? dummy ones always feel cheap.

Brandon FLA. They also had the 6682.

Most of the time if the phone is just a dummy, the manufacturers will not put the phones together like how they are when they go into production. I just got my nokia 6682 and 6102 dummies in on tuesday, and they really do not feel that well put together. I was not expecting them to be the same quality of the one that I plan on buying. They are just there to give you an idea of what the phone feels like.

I won't be so sure though, it seems like a lot of folks on Rogers Wireless are having issues with this phone.

Posted by: JDScott302

I got the dummy in the other day and it does feel pretty cheap, but i feel the real thing will be much better.

I just got a 6101 (Tmobile) yesterday, and it definitely does NOT feel cheap. It' very sleek and professional using. People are going nuts over it at TMobile.

Posted by: eimajuno

No bluetooth + No Symbian = Me not buying it. I am going to get the 6682.

Posted by: WirelessAndy

A phone I haven't tried + clamshell form factor = I'll give it a shot!

No expectations.

Posted by: vuittongirl

I wouldnt think Nokia would make a crappy flip. but then again, everything has its flaws. I am anxiously awaiting the 6102. I will at least try it out!

What more can they do to the 6682 than the dummy you have at your store? Not a bad looking phone.

Ya I read that awhile ago. Lot of returns on it. Nice work Nokia!!!!!!!!

Where is the phone! Oh my, it's behind the lens.

Actual product is MUCH more solid than the dummy. Dummy turned me off, this impressed me.

Is the charging port different that all the regular Nokia's? If so im gonna get mighty pissed as I have ALOT of Nokia CLA's on sale that Ive been selling to customers waiting for the phone. Please tell me im wrong.

by all reports, it is indeed different (smaller diameter?). P{ossibly this is due to the phone being built by BenQ (IIRC), though it would appear to have standard Nokia innards from an OS/RF standpoint.

Posted by: johngotti

If this phone does indeed turn to be a "dud" we can thank Nokia for letting BenQ produce it for them.... I personally dont like the idea... isnt this the company that is taking/taken over Siemens? Never really liked a Siemens phone... why would they let them make our beloved Nokia's?

When are you going to start selling them?

Posted by: boston_errol

the phone comes with an adapter for the charging port.

i think it looks sexy... (looks = objective opinion)

Posted by: bodeh6

From the pictures that I have seen it looks great.

Posted by: bigmike20

is there a difference between it and the 6101?
it seems like they both have 850mhz.

no difference at all... just carrier branding

rogers and tmobo have the 6101... we have 02

Posted by: izod

We got 20 of them in yesterday, and yeah, no bluetooth or series 60, but damnit, its a nokia flip!

Posted by: bigmike20

anyone know the size compare to the samsung e317?
The e317 fits nicely in my lil' front jean pocket. I wonder if it's the same for the 6102.

http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/co...B%5D=&id%5B%5D=

the 6102 is a little bit (4mm) thicker, 1mm taller, and 1 mm narrower.

Posted by: Mark Larson

Well, the E317 is 3.00 oz (85g) and 3.30" x 1.80" x 0.80" to the 6102's 3.42 oz
(97g) and 3.35" x 1.77" x 0.94". The E317 is lighter and smaller.

Yes BenQ is making Siemens phones.

As much as I like Nokias, I have to agree. I stopped by BestBuy and took a look at it and it just seems very plain to me. Although I'm sure Nokia has incorperated it's great RF capabilities into the phone,

Posted by: grifflax

No bluetooth is a BIGBUMMA.....shame on Nokia/Cingular for not including it. Otherwise is has the FM radio, the vid recording, the speakephone, and above all, it has the superior Nokia RF and a very long lasting battery.

The 6682 does have Symbian and a whole lot more....but the battery on that beast gets sapped quick!

the 6102 is flying off our shelves. customers want it

Posted by: eltupac

Like they say: "If you let something go and it comes back then it wasnt meant to be". If they volume is as low they say, it will come back. The mpx220 had the same problem and too many returns made moto fix the problem and issue people new phones. They made every excuse possible, the plastic protection, they volume is not up all the way, people are deaf. Finally they had to swallow it and fix it. You would think Nokia would not follow Moto, but hey, who am I but an unfortunate bystander of cheap, get it out now, Microsoft software production release copycats that dont care about the quality but more about quantity.

Posted by: kyle16

people buy the phone or borrow it from someone before popping off at the mouth about it.....jeez....everyone that knows anything about cell phones knows that dummies are just that. they are not meant to duplicate the experience, just give you a visual idea of what the device will look like.

i own the phone myself. its great. very few cons. best reception of any phone Cingular has ever offered imho.

Posted by: beatniks3

kyle, can I borrow yours please?

Posted by: hi12345

the reception of 6102 is pretty amazing. So clear I can barely hear anything else but the guy/gal talking on the other end. The volume issue is not a factor for me, nor is bluetooth since I don't use that. Sure it is made of plastic casing, but it doesn't feel cheap and has more of a feel of a properly constructed device.

My $0.02

Sure for $50 it's cheap enough.

we sell it for 99.99 and it still sells

although we have been getting a lot of VIP's

Posted by: duckboy

I kept this phone about 2 days and brought it back.

The candy bars appeal to me more then the flip.
