wtf? thats been almost a frieken year, why hasent anyone released a fix for this, its clearly software/firmware related but i could be wrong

**ya trade in one bad phone with some good features for another great phone with some bad features**

im really getting tired of my smartphones being dumb asses, i hate this, why do these little issues exist?

its actually a hardware problem. It has been discussed several times over at modaco. its a problem in all the typhoon varients, this really smart dude the ran alot of tests that detirmined it was a hardware problem so you have to deal with it.

little issues like this exist in all devices...all of them have some kind of problem or another.

ohhh well i thought that these types of issues would be resolved, but oh well...ya cant fix everything huh?

Not always, no.

I found that I didn't mind a relatively silent phone...I hated the warnings, etc to begin with, but in addition to that, I removed some of the registry sounds that couldn't be shutoff thru the sound section (start up, shutdown, default, etc.)...now all my phone does is what a phone should do, ring, notify of sms, email, etc...that's it...I don't want the phone to vocally tell me that I've pressed the wrong button, I can see that on the screen...

My SMT is pretty quiet now, and I never hear any tick/hiss anymore...at all...

Chris

Actually if it is the same hiss that I get from time to time on my ringtone, then it is related to bluetooth. If bluetooth is off then it shouldn't be an issue. It is something that I have learned to live with over the last year or so. OMG, I have had a phone for a year...

I had the same hiss noise only on ringtones when I had BT on with my old attws 5600. My new Cingular one has not had that problem at all and its been 4 months.
