MTI Map Tool Upgrades!

Finally, MTI makes sense to me! For the longest time I had to explain to my fellow agents how to use the MTI map tool on CSP. They simplfyed the layout (a little), and they even added the ability to see where the cell towers are and where they're located, whether they are currently having problems, and whether or not they are Cingular Blue or Orange towers! Sweet!

I saw that a few days ago as well... it does make a lot more sense when there are network problems to be able to understand where and what the status is.... when I worked for Voicestream (tmobile) we had this feature in a similar program... wonder what took Cingular so long to get it rollin in the map tool?

Probably cuz they're scared that it might become a security issue asking people where specific towers are, so they can, if they're mean, vandalize the towers or purposely take the towers off-line. There are some former Cingular employees and customers who are willing to seek revenge on Cingular by vandalizing Cingular's property, which is probably why they didn't reveal the towers in the first place.

Could be... I dont think the average rep would be giving out street addresses of towers though... they would probably just refer to some cross streets or something along those lines...

Funny thing about Mti, lately i've noticed alot of towers are showing up as being UMTS. If you select blue network and click on it (the tower) almost all of them are showing as being UMTS???

I wonder if they actually are, don't have a UMTS phone to check.

Let me know if any show up as UMTS in 91355 zip code...
