Several forums are reporting a new Palm Device, The Tungsten X. And if so, it will be the first Palm that I will go right out and buy, without waiting for the "Ebay Deal" or some other cheaper then norm way to acquire a device. To me it is more th thrill of the hunt, then the actual money saved (OK, money is nice) but this thing screams GET ME.
Here goes. :
The Tungsten X (which could likely be a code name) will run Palm OS Garnet v5.4.9. It will have a 312MHz XScale processor, a 320x480 pixel display, 128MB of non-volitile memory, 802.11b WiFi, Bluetooth 1.2 and an SDIO expansion slot. It is also supposed to have voice recording and a digital camera, though the source could not confirm it. It will have a $299 USD MSRP. SOURCE: palminfocenter

Also reported a ZIRE 22
Palm Zire 22 handheld. The Zire 22 will have a 160x160 pixel color screen, 32MB of RAM and no SD slot. It will retail for $99.

First of all: meh.

Secondly: It does not have a camera. You posted a pic of the "all" tab. So all the pre-installed apps up to M are listed. No Camera listed.

As to the camera, take a Poll, about 75% (IMHO) of the true PDA afficinados could care less about a camera. Who cares if they want to throw some .7 Megapixel camera in there and jack up the Price another $35-$50. They built a product with everything that most PDA users want, and brought it in at a pricepoint under $300. Palms most popular PDA Tungsten E, camera ? NO. Advantages, solid PDA features.

If it pans out, they got my $300. If I want to take pictures, I have a cool 5 MP Digital camera that is more then happy to take all the shots I need to take.

Some people just cant be pleased.

I thought most of palms pda's had voice recording? I know I have voice recording on my treo via some palm pda's software..

Throw that into a Treo and I'm in. I'd like to see a Treo with a slider if it didn't add extra bulk. Until then, I'll live with my T650. I am through carrying a pda And a phone.

The Zire 21/31, Tungsten E / E2 / T5 doesn't have Voice Memo. I have a Treo 600 and it doesn't have Voice Memo either.

The Zire 72, Tungsten T3 / C and LifeDrive has Voice Memo.

As for the original topic, it just seems to be the update to the Tungsten T5 by including the WiFi built in instead of via the SDIO WiFi Card.
