i have an 8910 and the headset symbol is appearing...but i dont have anything plugged in..i dont even have headphones. When people call i can't hear them and they can't hear me. What can i do to fix this? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

There could be debris in the jack causing the circuit to close. Try lifting the rubber gasket, and blowing in there a little. (Shake it upside down too).

Hopefully the problem is that simple to fix.

You could try cleaning the data jack at bottom of handset, I have seen this before but do not remember what the fix was right off.

Take it to the local tech shop have em open the phone up an use some spray cleaner in the port for the ear piece ... that is if it's NOT liquid damaged. Check the data port for light green on the brass use alchohol an a clean toothbrush if there is some there.

First try plugging in a headset if you have audio it will be a headset jack issue, if not take it to repair depot and get them to reflash software called an EFS erase and hopefully this will reset MSM chip to clear problem. If not the MSM chip(Qualcomm chip) is bad and will need to be replaced.
