the Philly market, which includes Eastern PA/Southern Jersey/Delaware will NOT be carrying this phone. It makes me sad, but it also "hypes up" the LG PTT phone when it comes out.

I recently bought this phone from my local Cingular store...after calling several other stores which said they don't carry it or it's only on the Web!
So far it it is performing well, and will fit the needs of phone users who use cell phones for talking only.
One minor complaint is that on incoming calls, the ring starts out very low, then progressively gets louder as the phone keeps ringing. Some people might actually find this a benefit , but for me, I want to hear if somebody's calling me on the FIRST ring...so far, I can't figure out how to change this.
Oh, another complaint is that the battery doesn't last that long for talking...but it follows the published specs, i think.

any idea how this phone compares to the samsung x497?
Posted by: tendura
Bout the same to the 497, but the samsung does have the built in speakerphone, voice notes, and a larger phonebook.

If you're planning on hooking up your phone to the pc to download your own ringtones and such good luck...none of the device mangers are compatible and there isn't any software out there that is of any use for this phone.HUGE disappointment.
