may have it swapped out for a new one since mine is acting up. The problem is I have Dl'd some apps (ringo, Texas hold em game, volumecare, etc) and wanted to know if I can back em up so I can transfer to my new 650. I have an SD card as well so I dont know if that would be easier to save em on there. I would hate to purchsae em all over again. I am not too inclined when it comes to this stuff so if some1 has easy instructions on how to do it It would really help me. TIA

From what I understand, each time you sync your Treo with your usb sync cable it backs up all apps. Once you resync it should install the apps again. I could be mistaken, but this is what I was told, because I was worried about facing hard reset, which I have not yet encountered.

Now, if this is true, I'm just not sure if it would work for a new Treo, or if recognizes the serial of your old Treo, and would therfore not work to reinstall the apps on your new one.

Hope that made sense, and I could be wrong, but if I am, I guess we will learn together.

When you sync with the computer, you will be doing an automatic backup. All you need is to swap the phone, and on the first time doing the sync you will be asked if you want to use the current ID or change.

Hope this helps.

Always bear in mind that whenever you switch units for whatever reason, each unit has a unique Digital IMEI#. Whenever you purchase applications for third party vendors your registration code is created in combination with your IMEI# or digital id depending on cell company and hotsync ID.

After you get your new unit. just hot sync and all your applications will appear on your unit. If you have applications on external memory card I suggest deleting them and restoring them on your card. Because due to the complexity of application files. If your missing one your unit will bugger up. Hope this helps.

When u do up grade your unit....contact your vendors to see if they can re-issue u new registration codes. Ive done all this personally and its not that difficult.
