XBM switched me to SMT5600.. not working out?

Back when the big MPx220 - SMT5600 switch was going on about two months ago, I recieved a SMT5600 in exchange for my MPX220. The thing is, the rep told me that i WOULD be recievnig another mpx. I recieved a smt5600, and didn't say anything about it, just tried it out. Over time I'm learning more and more that I liked the MPx220 more, due to the flip style and the fact that the 5600 is sucking up dust like crazy.

Has anyone tried to switch back?

I have, and I couldn't.

The rep told me the same thing, that I'd be able to swap my smt5600 back to an mpx220 when they were in stock. When I called to see how things were looking, timing wise, I was told that once I'd received the smt5600, there was no way I could swap back. I tried with passion to change back, and was pushed through various levels until I got to "the big guy".

No matter what I did, it was a no go. I was, and still am stuck with the mst5600.

You might want to give your rep a call and see if you'll be able to swap back. Again, my rep promised me I'd be able to swap it back, he even claimed it was a "plan" of sorts.

I just swapped back from my SMT to an MPx220 without any problems. I even noticed a build quality improvement with my newest MPx... it doesn't squeak as much, although the camera still is awful ><

Hey rosullivan, how'd you go about doing this? Did you just call a CSR and they swapped it back for you?

What I'd really like to know if there is any way I can still get the v551 with the $250 credit. Now that I've got a Dell Axim, I don't really have as much need for a smartphone as I would a bluetooth phone with EDGE. Plus the $250 would be nice!

I've been working with my rep at Stan Sigman's office... I did the exchange thru them and then I just called her up and let her know that I didn't like the SMT so she overnighted me a new MPx... wasn't a problem at all!

Wow. I just got off the phone with Cingular again, and it didn't work. I went through 2 levels this time of CSR support, and couldn't get anywhere. I told them I "knew" someone who'd swapped theirs back, and the guy simply responded that if that had happened, it was a mistake on Cingulars end.

No love for me I guess.

You might need to bump it up a notch and go the Stan Sigman route if they are going to be uncooperative.

I know that he's the Cing CEO...but what does it mean to his route?

Posted by: rosullivan04

you would email him and let him know what's going on.

Thanks.

You should call XBM and try to RMA for a switch, if that doesn't work I recommend selling your new 5600 on Ebay and then you can start shopping for a new phone. When I had to switch another phone via XBM, I used Ebay to get me the cash to choose a new model altogether.
