Is my Treo 650 Earpiece Speaker Blown??

I've had an unlocked GSM Treo 650 for about 2 months and its worked flawlessly. Today while I was on the phone the earpiece volume cut out. I thought maybe the person I was talking to lost service so I called them back. The phone is connecting but there is no sound at al coming out of the headset. It sounds like its not even on. The speaker phone works fine and everything else is perfect. I have volumecare installed but have had it since I got the Treo and the handset volume was not set to the max. Is the speaker blown??? I've tried a soft reset but get the same result. If it is blown, can I send it to palm to get it fixed? If I can, what is the turnaround time for the phone, and are they going to fix it or just charge me for the repair and send me another one. Thanks, D

do you have a headset? Might want to try that first.

Headset works fine, but if I unplug it I get nothing.

soft and hard resetting doesn't help, I suppose..

No, that doesn't fix it either. I don't know what happened, it was working perfectly.

My Treo also worked perfectly, but one day the speakerphone just went silent. Had to send it back to get it repaired. No wonder there's a lawsuit against Palm..

yeah samething happened here as a matter a fact, my phones had just been shipped out to me today and i should have it within 3 days

Yeah, this sucks, but they are sending me a new one.

Make sure you do get a NEW one. There's a bad habit of sending a REFURBISHED unit.

Could be the problem with the Treo thinking it's in headset mode even though you've unplugged the headset. It's a common issue.

Tried that, still doesn't fix the problem.
