I'd like to know how to do this without a card reader if this is even possible. I do have a data cable , a mini sd card, and bitpim. I can send music files to use as 'ringtones' with a .qcp extension but can't figure out how to get my Mp3 player to show any songs. Also I do have the latest version 4 firmware.
Thanks

Good luck trying to get a response for this question. I've already seen one thread abou this subject, and I created another one yesterday and no one has replied to either of the threads. I've heard that it is possible, but I've been looking for a step-by-step like you. I believe the folder is mmc1 or mcc1 to access the memory card, but I am not sure. And the my_mp3 folder is in there. I tried putting mp3's in that folder but it fudged up for some reason. Have you tried this?

Yes I did try that. It didn't work though. I guess I'll just order a $10 card reader since I already have the mini sd card.

I'll probably end up doing that too, but I know someone around here knows how to do it. I just wish they would tell us. It's like no one is allowed to talk about it or something.

Dude, ever think that maybe no one knows? Most people who buy a miniSD card get a adapter as well. My adapter came with the card, as do many. All questions are answered here if they are known, look in all the threads. Just be patient and don't act like no one cares

Well I got an adapter with my card but it doesn't work with my canon printer media slots for some strange reason. But of course a regular sd card works just fine. Oh well, my mini sd card reader is on its way. I hope it works.

I got it to work finally without a card reader. Too bad my card reader is being delivered on Monday. Oh well I guess I'll add it to my computer parts collection.
Anyway I used the minisd card still located in my phone, bitpim and my usb data cable. Tranferred my mp3's over to folder mmc1 and into subfolder my_mp3
You do this by right clicking the the my_mp3 folder and selecting new file. Then choosing the song to tranfer over. It takes a 'few minutes' for each song. So maybe a dedicated card reader is really the best way to go.
I turned the phone off and then back on again. Then closed the lid and held down the play button for a few seconds and then my 1 song I tested worked.(Or you can click on ok, click on left arrow 2 times, click on get tunes and tones, click on my mp3.)
I hope that helps others out who have a mini sd card but don't have a card reader.
