leaving retail store to go back to an agent....

I put in my two weeks last thursday, but was so sick of the corporate BS that I made yesterday my last day. Cingular doesn't want to pay there reps anything. I'm going to be making salary, commissions are double, and benefits. Screw a retail store. It was alright for a while, but a good agent is the way to go. At least I'm going to be making money for a small business...not some giant company who could give a rats arse about me or any other sales rep. I will even get 50 bucks for getting over 90 percent on a secret shop. Last month I got a 100 and didn't even get an e-mail saying good job. Yay for me...I start tommorrow.

If you found a good indirect you'll eb much happier with the pay and treatment from what I have read around here.

Indirects are nice if you find a good one. I get paid 100 dollars bons on every secret shop I score 85 or above on.

this is a great idea. ive told my company that yelling at everyone that happens to score below an 85 or demoting managers only goes so far. bonuses are better motivators

to the OP, i used to think that i would be better off if i went to work for corporate, after joining this board and hearing from corp reps, im really glad im with an agent.

Haha. My best friend works at a corp. store, and he's always telling me I should switch over. (I work for SC Kiosks, owned by RadioShack). He knows I would make more money, but my questions in reply are:

1. Do I have insane quotas?
2. Do I get pressured to add features that people usually don't want?
3. Do I get a chance to make $2,000/month JUST in bonuses, aside from hourly and commission?
4. Do I have cheaper phone prices?
5. Do I have three carriers so if someone doesn't like Cingular I can still get them a phone?

The answer at a corp. store is No to all five questions, which is why I stay with SC Kiosks.

I made 100 dollars commission my first day at my new store...this is gonna be great. I'm actually getting compensated for the work I do now.

lol - yeah right, like that means anything.

everyone knows that big brother Cingular could shut your or any other corp store down at a dime's notice if they figured it would save the company a dollar or two.

nevermind that they'd be F-ing the employees at that corp store. nevermind that you'd be puting hardship on that employee's life now that you've pulled his job right from his legs. doesnt matter. anything to save a buck or two. thats all that matters to Cingular in general. oh, that and them trying to figure out where the hell they're going to be able to raise the $5M bonus that Sigman is supposed to be getting next year.

I think the key to any job security is finding an employer/indirect that know what the heck is going on and knows how to run a business. The ones that are any good have been around for along time and will be around for along time
