Hey Guys,

I havn't read the forums in a long time, just wondering if anyone has beem able to get the 902SH to type japanese, so that I can somehow get my GF's 902SH JDM unlocked for her so she can email her mom (through the phone).

oh and 903, looks great. Support Japanese at all or same issue as 902?

The JP 902SH types Japanese without any problems (obviously ). The EU 902 only displays Japanese, it can't type it. While I haven't confirmed this yet, I'm sure it's the same situation with JP and EU 903SHs and 703SHs.

Actually I've been at this problem since the 902SH JDM came out, we have it but can't get it unlocked, and my GF got it so that she could easily email her mother back in japan.

so was just wondering if anyone had a solution.

I can confirm that my UK 903 can display Japanese but I still could not get it to write Japanese...I will try later...

So you need to get the phone unlocked. Search the forum, there's been HEAPS of threads regarding how to unlock the 902SH.

Ok that's good to hear then. I don't think you'll be able to get it to type Japanese, with the 902 Sharp removed the Keitai Shoin input software to make room for T9. They haven't devised a way to allow the two to run together yet, and they probably won't for a while unless Vodafone Japan asks for English T9 support for JP version Sharp phones (Vodafone Group obviously aren't going to ask for Japanese input support for the EU version).
