Hello,

I could need some help. I can only find forums with other people having this problem, but no solution.

I have a Siemens CX65, with a data cable (SIM M50 ?). On my computer I have installed the newest version of 'mobile phone manager' for the Siemens CX65.
My PC detects a new device when I plugin, but the mobile phone manager does not 'see' any moile phone.

Other people with other Siemens phones seem to have similar problems.
I expect a simple solution, but have no clue at all...

You are right about this problem. In my case I have identified it to Win XP after having installed Service Pack 2. I have resorted to keeping Win XP- SP1 and SP2 on my computer. I have no doubt about the effect of SP2 since I have done new installs of SP2 and have noted the inability to synchronize my SX-1. Other people, like 4mula1, are able to synchronize even though they use Win-XP SP2. My computer has an AMD chip, but that should not make a difference.

What are your operating system and computer chip?

I use XP SP2 with an AMD CPU and can sync both my SX1 and SL55/65 with no problem. Do you have the straight USB cable or the USB to serial?

I have an AMD Athlon, and work with SP1 because SP2 sucks in some ways.

"the straight USB cable or the USB to serial" does not say me anything. I just have the cable that my phone shop gave me for my phone.

I got my phone second hand, could that be the problem?
I could be the cable, but I don't know anything about cables, and I trust the knowledge of the seller...

I have a similar problem, only mine actually does things when it's connected. It'll see the phone, sync addresses and things, but it won't do a complete backup, which is what I need. I'm using Win2k and I tried with Service Pack 1 and 4, neither made a difference. I'm going to try it on a PC laptop next, I've tried it only on Virtual PC (but according to what I'm reading here that may not be the problem).

Does the cable have a box in the middle of it or is it just a cable with a connector on each end?

Look here and scroll down to the data cables. The DCA-510 is the USB to serial and the DCA-540 is the straight USB. Which one does yours look like?

Mine looks like the DCA-510; it has a box in the middle. But it is defenitely not the same one. I think I'll get myself an other cable...
Thanx
