Is it just me or are there too many design defects on the Treo 650? I've had this one unit reset every time I drop it about 2 inches or if it's in a bag and gets shaken. Even better yet, I can shake the Treo a bit and it will reset. Does this happen to any of you? Oh get this...I walk and if I am talking and have to stop suddenly, it resets in mid conversation.
I'm beginning to think that the design needs to be rethought. My HTC Magician has withstood 8 foot drops from a helicopter to concrete and doesn't even require a hard reset.

what the heck? Did you drop it hard before this started? If it came like that, Palm will gladdly replace your deffective unit.

hehehehe this is a replacement unit actually. The first one was much worse and the second one was pretty bad but would hard reset if I pressed the power button. This is the third replacement already. It's only happening on this unit though which is hilarious. I'm wondering what will be wrong with the 4th unit?

Is it just the Phone mode powering off, or the whole handheld?

If you have a GSM model, check your SIM card, it may be a little loose and require shimming. The SIM may be moving away from the contacts and that could be causing it to reset. Try that.

I have a ppc 6600, and everytime I drop it (yeah, I'm a klutz), it not only throw the battery out, but when I put the battery back in, it did a hard reset and I have to restore my backups.
If I were to take the battery out in a normal condition, and put it back in, it retains the memory. go figure.
