VX 6000 usb cable drivers for windows xp

I am new to this but i think i almost figured out how to use this bitpim program. I followed atutorial completely and everything was fine until the final step when i tried to send the data (ringer) to my vx6000. It said that it could not detect a port or something like that. I have the USB cable but i am not sure if the computer is recognizing my phone when i attach the cable. I believe i need the USB driver for the cable but i cannot find it anywhere. Can you direct me to a download a driver.
