I was thinking that I would bring my phone into a Telus store and ask the tech guys about dialing into the Telus internet servers from a mobile phone... but I'm not sure if they would have any clue what I was talking about...

Originally posted by urban4u Can any of the other GD87's out there help me out with sending email on my GD87?? ![]() For some reason, I can receive emails just fine [so I assume the pop server settings must be ok], but anytime I try to email a photo taken from the phone, it won't work! The smtp servers are indeed correct, as I use them on my home pc without any problems... so I'm stuck. I have no idea what the problem could be. Weird thing is, when I first got my phone, I was actually ABLE to email photos without and problems, but now all of a sudden I can't [and unfortunately, I can't remember if I changed any minor settings in the phone, so I can't back-track!]. I use the Telus.net dialup internet servers to send/receive emails to avoid the high GPRS costs, but I've also tried using GPRS to send emails [just to make sure it wasn't a problem on the Telus server end] and it doesn't work either, even though I can use WAP with GPRS just fine. The same thing happens all the time... I click to send the mail, it connects to the server successfully then it starts to send the message, but then stops shortly after and says "Disconnected from Server" and the same error message as always appears... "Failed Please Retry". So how should I go about setting up my email settings on the phone properly so that I can actually send photos/messages again?? If anyone has any outgoing email experiences they wish to share, please do so! Any assistance would be MUCH appreciated

Originally posted by lost_rebel I am using T-mobile GPRS and I can not send mail on either earthlink or myrealbox but using a Circuit switched connection to Earthlink I can send mail on the earthlink SMTP server! I can not wait for GD87 to support SMTP authentication! |

Originally posted by lost_rebel AMR, I am not sure what the acronym is but it is the voice files created by the voicerecorder in the mobile. Have you tried to email yourself (and let the mobile download the mail) and see if the mobile gets the files correctly? It could be the mime or Unicode encoding format that has made something upset! |

Originally posted by urban4u Yes, I've tried emailing myself things and I can receive everything perfectly on the mobile. I've sent photos, midis and text files, and they can always be received without problems. But now I really don't understand what's going on... ![]() I tried sending out another email with a photo attachment from my GD87 last night before I went to bed, and to my surprise it worked flawlessly! ![]() Perhaps it has something to do with the dialup servers... Maybe they're over-capacity and that's why I was having problems sending. I really can't think of a reasonable answer to this

Originally posted by lost_rebel I am sorry, I meant email from the mobile to the mobile and see if it works. Also try emailing to people with different service providers/email tools (netscape, outlook express, outlook, AOL etc) and see if it is related to your service or email tool. |

Thanks again
], I have found a strange work-around method to send emails to other email addresses, just by adding the other persons address after the my own email address on the mobile in the "To:" line.
