Hello All,
I am in the process of purchasing a data cable for my VX8100. My question is will a data cable for the VX8000 work for my VX8100? The reason I ask is because I have found VX8000 cables which are alot cheaper than the VX8100 cable. Also I see some places where you can buy just the cable but I have not found anywhere where the software to go with the cable is free. Even if you buy the cable do I then have to purchase software to make use of the cable?

yes it will, you don't have to buy software to access the phone. goto bitpim.org, you can download legal free software which supports the 8100

Thanks, that did the trick. You wouldn't happen to have any good legal advice on getting free mp3 and movies for the phone would you? I just just purchased the 8100 and I am trying to take full advantage of every and anything it can do so I've been reviewing past posts and if there are any other cool things anyone has found I am defintely interested. I do not know of a way to read outlook mail on the phone, although I bet it would be possible to do if you set up your own wap proxy to get into your e-mail account and then reprogram the proxy in the phone to get to it.

Legal free mp3s, doubt it.
