just foudn this browsing some of those sites which sell unlocked phone

i dont know if i can or cant post this link so please delete the thread if its a proble

cheaper than cingular, althought the memory is only 128 mb still cheaper

sorry bud but thats not a good deal at all.

Cingular currently sells the ROKR for something like $350 w/o contract. and as well all know, the Cingular ROKR comes with the 512MB Transflash card.

so for roughly $10 more, you'd be getting a 512MB card vs. the 128MB card in your link.

Sorry but I don't think the mods will consider the OP's post spam.

AT my locla Wal-Mart Connection center the ROKR is $426.83 "No Contract"

Not only that, but the unlocked version does not have 850 band. I wonder why that is? Does that mean that 850 band is programmed into the cingular firmware, making the ROKR actually a quad band phone?

Posted by: triple5soul8781

yea, thats why people buy e398's and do some crazy hacking and unlock the 850 band lol

Same here $399.99 + Tax

This is the cheapest I've seen. Doesn't come with the TF card though...I don't think:

--edited-- please discuss offer instead of linking

I've never been to a Walmart that sells new phones! All the Walmarts I've been to in the Houston area only sell the V551, and X427m!

Per forum rules:

"Advertising/Spamming - Any form of advertising or soliciting members or commerical website linking (excluding signatures of current HowardForum advertisers) whether publicly posted (including signatures) or sent privately (including email or PM) is strictly prohibited. This also includes, but is not limited to advertising with the intent to 'help people', or to provide 'free' products or services (e.g. 'free unlocking' posts), or links containing a referral or affiliate ID. While the forum is free for you to use, it is costly and time consuming for us to run so spam makes it harder to fund the forums. If you wish to advertise please use our contact form first."

I dont think its against the rules to discuss the price and recieve feedback on it, but from the way I read the rules, direct linking it prohibited. If I'm reading this wrong PM me and I will take it up with another mod and ask.

sorry about that. I definitely was not advertising anything that I sell or contribute to. Guess I didn't read the rules before posting that link. Either way, I've seen $320 shipped as the lowest price for the ROKR

that what I did and so far I have been loving my E398 on my Cingular 850 service.

the "crazy hacking" that you speak of isnt that hard to do. it just involves getting the right flash/flex utility along with a couple flash/flex files.

I think it took me all of maybe 10 minutes from start to finish. of course that was with the help from someone in the Moto section of the forum who is pretty smart when it comes to playing around with these Moto phones.

I tried reading about flash/flexing, it I was all sorts of confused, but then when I read that the programs I needed are windows based, I used it as an excuse not to learn b/c I am on a mac.
