Ok so my activesync doesnt recognize my phone anymore. the phone still charges but i cant connect to AS. I realized that when it started happenin was after i got home from a trip and my phone was dead so i plugged it into my computer to charge and turned it on while it was plugged in and the computer was starting up. Could this be why it doesnt recognize my phone anymore and if so is there anyway to fix it?

Have you restarted both the phone and computer?

unplug from computer and reboot both and wait until computer is up all the way and then plug the phone in.

I tried that it didnt work. I've rebooted both a couple of times and it still refuses to acknowledge the phone

Ok now whenever i plug my phone into my computer in goes into the car profile. I didnt even know i had a car profile. any insight on whats goin on with this thing

Have you tried deleting the partner ship on active sync then re atatching your phone to see if it will start a new profile

yeah i've deleted the partnership still a no go. any ideas why it would go to the car profile when i plug it into my computer though?

it uses the sam type of plug as the car system and when you install it you have to do it one of two ways to enable it to decide which function it will use with the ignition.

first way is you set the phone up with ignition on then switch off ignition this then sets the fone to switch on and off with the ignition good if the fone is a permanant resident of the car.
second way is with ignition off this sets the fone to charge mode when engine is running and leaves it switched of when engine is killed. (or visa versa )

have you tried leaving it connected to AS and switching of the computer to see if it switches off the fone too.

I think the best option would be to hard reset the fone then start the computer delete the partnership reset the partner ship synch your contacts and reinstall all apllets if you have done this a reflash may be the next option.
