BEST BT GPS for travelling X-country USA??

Can anyone tell me which BT software is best for making a trip across the country for vacation? I dont want to be loading the whole USA on a memory disk but looking for something that is designed for cross country driving. But also has the capability to be used locally as well once my vacation is over. I will only be making this drive cross country twice and so use it just a couple times but the rest in Dallas, Texas.
