ok i read about the seem editing, but i still dont get why it doesnt work...here's the problem...im trying to turn off the "DISPLAY MY PHONE NUMBER AT POWER ON"...i went to p2k and downloaded seem 0032_0001 by typing in 0032 from the "from" and 0032 from the "to"...went to XVI32 and opened the seem...went to "goto" address and typed in 48 on the "hyperdecimal" and it directed me to the "44" on the left side and "01" in the middle...i then went to bit manipulation and since "bit 0" turns off the display i only select o from the "status of bits"..i went back to p2k and uploaded the seem but this time i typed 0032 in the "from" and 0001 in the "to"..and uploaded it "V3(/a)"..from what i read the seem is suppose to say "done" instead of "ok" on the bottom of p2k but mine said "ok"...when i restarted my phone the phone number was still displaying at startup...please can anyone tell me what my stupidass is doing wrong? sorry if it's long. thanks alot

use a seem editor for easy stuff like that. I use seemplayer but I'm not sure where to get it at anymore. look around I'm sure it's here somewhere.

Make sure you 'Uncheck' Bit '0' only and save file and upload to phone.

I think you mistakenly used the SEEM backup portion of P2K, assuming you're using P2KTools anyways. There should be a box that says 0032 and one directly below it that says 0001, and four buttons, read from phone, write to phone, load and save. Just put in 0032 0001 and hit read, you should be able to edit the bit right there in the hex editing window, and then just pick write to phone. If you arent using P2K tools, its an advisable pickup, its available on a number of sites.

Which P2k program are you using P2kTools or P2kman?

i used both

In P2kman you will not 'see' the seem in the file list. With P2ktools 'Write Seem' to phone then restart.
Also make sure in 'Setting'>Phone Status>My Tel. Numbers that your number is not in that list.

i was wondering is the seem suppose to be on the phone and use up some kilobytes or does it act like a setting and takes up no space?

In P2kman when you 'Download' a seem you are taking a copy from the phone not removing it. When you 'Upload' it back to the phone you are overwriting the current seem.

thanks a lot i appreciated it...it finally works now...after i did the "phone status" thing which i did not know about in the first place...but one more question...could i have delete the number from the phone status without doing the seem?
