Is there a program that allows you to control tv's and cable boxes, etc.. through the IR port? Or maybe there's a way to recieve IR commands and store them on the phone so you can use them on your phone. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Phones IR power just isn't there. You would have to be right up on the box if someone actually invested their time to design such an app for the phone. There are also other limitations that I can't recall off the top of my head that really make it not worth the development or use...

For some strange reason, the power issue only seems to occur in Smartphone.

There's plenty of IR apps for Series 60, UIQ, Pocket PC, etc.

Yes, there are plenty of IR apps for Symbian, why not SMARTPHONE!!!

Big deal, if you have to be close so what? You have to do the same for the Symbian phones anyway... But I needed one last night, and it wasnt there... Thats pretty sucky.
