Audio Problem with ImTOO or Xilisys?

Hello,

I was encoding some (Robot Chicken) .mpg files into .3GP last night using both ImToo and Xilisoft, or whatever that 3GP encoder is called..
I had good results on the video side with both programs, but the audio was pretty bad on several different files that I tried.

I attempted to adjust the bitrate of the audio, changing from mono to stereo, and changing the audio sampling rate in the menu.
When any of the audio settings were adjusted, the encoding process would "Fail" every time.

It runs every time with the default audio values , including 8000 for the sampling rate, but it sounds like there are Kellogs Rice Crispies are in the mix.
Just wondering if anyone else ever ran into this and what the fix might have been?
