such a crappy month, you know what?im going to donate this commision check to the hurricane makin it $500 total id be donating.

hell ill get some of it back come tax time.

you know why i hate looking at my comp? because when i see ALL the feature i sell and then glance at the payout, it makes baby jesus cry( as well as me).

heres to a $250 commission check!

Posted by: sakic_lanche19

so what's up with the payout of your features? This month Cingular cut our take home for features above 14.99 to 25% of the monthly charge. This really stinks. Are getting as screwed as I am.

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

im paid half of said feature.

19.99 media works? 9.99

$5 text? 2.50

Posted by: sakic_lanche19

Wow!! I thought ours was bad. We at least get face value of anything under $14.99. I feel for you. Can you guys get features anytime? I mean if someone comes in off the street and gets the 2500 text/$19.99 do you get the commission? I only ask because we only get credit when they activate/upgrade/migrate.

Posted by: nskgti23

Damn... That hurts... A $250 commission check.

Well just be glad you don't live in NYC. That barely gets us a night out drinking if I'm going to a club... $15 well vodkas, what a joke...

On a side note, why don't you apply for a job in b2b or some other department? Probably would make more money.

Posted by: JDH2202

that sucks, i made like 1400 this month, and i only sold like 25 new lines.

Posted by: A.H.E.

we make full value on features except for the two free features we get 1/2 of that price. but we max out at i think 19.99 or 24.99 per one feature.

Posted by: coinstar99

I got the bum rap this month as well. It was almost not worth working I think I might have made more money on unemployement! Its crazy anymore, I am scrounging around my house as we speak trying to find things I don't need, so I can sell them to finish paying off my bills! I shouldn't have to do that

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

i really dont want october to come so i can find this crappy payout.

its a joke and guess what? im also written up for the 2nd time too.

i dont care. cingulars going to have to fire me and when they do...............

yeah...

I don't understand why your com check is so low. You would have to be a sucky employee to get anything below $500!

I had one new employee who made around $500 for his first commission check (this was around seven months ago).

How many upgrades do you do in a month alfred? What about accessories?

i dont do many upgrades due to low feature attachment. i do like 10-12 TOPS.

this 250 is post tax of course. the hell am i uspposed to know for accessories? i probably sell 1k worth but get paid for $50 of it anyways.

Posted by: A.H.E.

i feel really sorry for you guys. i have 23 new lines 27 upgrades and my commission is around $1450. it's been a descent month for me. maybe you sohuld learn to sell features, accessories and capatalize on upgrades. just a thought.

Posted by: nskgti23

My Sept commission check should be pretty good... 146 lines plus about 70 rate plan adjustments. I will probably get a lot held back do to winfall...

dude, you're talking to one if not the top sales rep as far as feature per oppertunity goes in my area.

ive sold 20+ media packages, 10 BB's, and bunch of other stuff.

but it doesnt mean squat when im paid half of it and then its damn taxed half of it anyways.

so essentially im getting a quarter of said feature paid to me.

you're obviously an agent and dont know how copr works. if i counted and did every upgrade under my code, my feature rate per oppertunity would be under 7.00 vs to the 20+ im at now.

You really need to forget about percentages and just focus on money.

Hitting 100% feature quota doesn't mean a whole lot when you could be at only 50% attach rate and have double or triple the amount of upgrades, that's a minimum of $80 to $160 more added to your commission. Accessories are another thing I would always capitalize on and I always had a high accessory $ amount. My personal goal was to sell at least $2500 worth of accessories, that's another $100 added to your check. Just doing those two things I mentioned would have doubled your check

But to be quit honest, no matter how hard you work at cingular, as long as you are working as a corp retail rep the money will not be great and you can see this by all the others that are chiming in.

I like you had a really great team and it made coming to work fun and enjoyable but in the end no matter how great of a team you have it won't make paying the bills any easier. Some times it's just best to move on

corp pays 4% on accessories flatout. so thats anywhere from .20-$4 MAX if that.

feature attachments important in my market. i odnt need to go to HQ and go to training on HOW TO SELL FEATURES for an entire stupid day.

lets put it this way: for every 1 media package an agent sells, i need to sell 2 to make the same as him.

i dont get $7 on 7-7. its like $2.

Posted by: ivwshane

I know what you get paid

You are thinking about the short term not the long term. Sure accessories only pay 4% but if you sell $2500 in accessories (which you should be able to do or at least come close to it) the 4% adds up to $100.

And if you are forced to go to training for missing your feature quota then think of that as a good thing because you get paid 8 hours and half the time you wont be there for 8 hours, you also get $40 in commission for training (at your current rate that would be a good day) and on top of that you can write off your lunch and mileage.

By you only focusing on features it isn't making you money but it's sure doing alot for your manager and cingulars bottom line. I don't know about you but my pay check is more important than my managers (which I was very good friends with) and it's definitely more important than cingulars bottom line.

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

its easier said than done.

how many do you think will buy a car charger at 26.99?

no, i dont have room to budge.

Posted by: ivwshane

I used to sell a ton of them when they were $29.99!! Of course they were OEM and not that crap cingular sells.

The way I kept my accessories up was by helping customers who were just looking for accessories for their phone, one trick that always seemed to work was to take the item out of the package and let the customer try it out.

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

i cant even haggle $5 off.

cingular makes beyond millions of dollars in accessories and pays us the rate of a chinese sweat shop.

Posted by: ivwshane

Yeah the mark up on accessories is freaken crazy!

Posted by: ChocoDough

Ya cingular's rules and quota's keep getting more insane all the time.

If anyone high up at Cingular is reading, then please FIRE these executives that are making us rep's lives miserable!

Also, Cingular rewards is a joke. There are NO events going on this quarter to earn points. I just got points for some July thing I already forgot about, and to know whatever I do right now is not making me any points is rediculous.

They should adobt the old AT&T Edge Rewards. Now that was nice. You get points on your activations, and on extra features. Plus you got them within a week or so, not like this 2 month later crap.

Cingular is keeping some of AT&T's dumb a$$ policies and not using the good ones.

Whoever near the top at Cingular are complete morons. YES I WILL SAY IT TO YOUR FACE whoever you guys are. They increase our quotas, cut in half our feature commissions, and yet they expect us to be more motivated!? They are crazy.

You want to know what makes people motivated? MONEY. I don't need a quota on features. I sell them cause they make me money. The more money you give me the more motivated I get. PERIOD.

Sounds like some of you COR people need to come to the authorized agent side where the grass is much greener it sounds money wise....

In the words of Arnold from in Kindergarden Cop, "Stop whinning"....

I work in a mall and we sell chargers for 26.99. If you look at other carriers like verizon orif you go to a sprint store you will pay 30 for a charger as well as a case. I used to work for Nextel before i became a manager for Cingular and they charged closer to 40 for a car charger. OEMs are a better seller though

Posted by: JDH2202

You do reap better benefits as an agent. We are paid up to 25 dollars per feature and we get the full amount on the feature. This is for both upgrades and for new lines. I make easily over 500 a month in just feature sales and that in my opinion makes up for the higher base pay you get at the corporate store.

I'm not trolling by any means, just noticing how many people are complaining about their pay. I've also noticed that not many of you seem to be old school sales reps, because if you were, you'd be complaining even more.

Commissions have gone down considerably...no matter which carrier you work for. Yes, I am a sales rep for Verizon Corp, and if I didn't work at the second busiest store in my state then I don't know what the hell I would do. Commissions just aren't what the used to be. Three-Four years ago I used to gross over 100k/year, the last two years I've brought 70-80k. True I still get paid a lot, but 20-30k less is a huge difference.

I am in no way bragging or anything of that nature. Although I always THOUGHT VZW paid better then Cingular, I would never of thought that I would see so many Cingular employees complaining.

It's not really that exciting to see that...I always thought if things didn't work out at Verizon, I could always apply at Cingular.

Honestly, I would like to see what Cing corp reps quotas are like.

This whole salesman thing bothers me. Out of all the salesmen I know, they demand the best deal from their employer or walk.
When things change they usually don’t go back and may get worse.
I used to be one and got fed up so I quit and started my own business. I still sell, but things are much better.

Posted by: techren

I totally agree. I came to Cingular from T-Mobile and I knew I would be making a little less money but this is crazy. Plus they appreciate thier employees alot more. Oh well, found out the grass isn't greener...
