what kind of replacement is that? the rep said they're out of 6620's and all she can do is replace it with this junk. i have no choice but to wait (should i call again?) and put my claim on hold.

where are the nokias. i would exchange a 6620 for a s710a but not any moto phone. i'm pissed.

what should i do?

I would continue to insist on a more comparable exchange. I would expect nothing less than than another smartphone.

A Moto for a Nokia is like getting a turd for a diamond...... Hang in there for any Nokia running the Symbian OS as a replacement.

I would wait and/or complain. In the meanwhile, get something cheap to get you buy. It would be lame, IMHO, to get a V551 -- those two phones aren't even in the same ballpark.

If you are anything like me, you had a Symbian OS smartphone, use the Nokia PC Suite to sync your phone (mostly Bluetooth, sometimes IR), have Symbian OS applications that are important to you, and use your MMC card.

They should replace it with something equivalent such as a Nokia 6682 or other Nokia SymbianOS-based smartphone.

I was under the impression that that you still (in some cases) had the option to pick a phone up at a retail location and pay the $50.00 deductable in person.

You may have to check if that's the case in your area.

^^^ nah everything in done over the phone. The best thing you can do in that situation is contact customer care. 800 331 0500 and tell them the store. they will care a lil more than the other departments. Iv seen them bend over backwards for the customer. Its not always a good thing but it may be some help to you.

I believe lock line is independent of cingular. So they cant cater to our insurance needs when we need it. What is that class action law suit?

That was the case a while back... we havent been able to process a LockLINE request in store since last February...

The 6620 is SUPPOSED to be replaced by the 6682 on insurance claims. Apparantly they are in stock right now (at least at cingular.com). I think that the phones that they ship out on insurance claims come direct from the Nokia/Moto etc. If the inventory levels are high enough, they should ship you a 6682 and it should actually be a new phone and not a refurb since it's a pretty new handset.

I could be wrong though. Best to call them and see.

Bingo. That's the problem... there's no Symbian phones left for Blue customers.
