Hi,

I am about to get Cingular service in the next couple of weeks. I currently have VZW service but will be cancelling tomorrow.

My current phone is a Motorola E815 and I absolutely love it. It has MP3 playback, supports micro-SD, fantastic screen, great keypad, etc., etc.

What is the current high-end flip phone for Cingular customers? (edit: if you've tried it, how does it compare to the Moto E815?)

I checked out a coworker's Razr yesterday and I was not impressed. The form factor is great but I thought the keypad is awful. I'm definitely looking for a flip phone. Or should I hold out a few weeks for some awesome new phone you know is coming?

If you don't like the RAZR, then I'd say the MPX220, if you can find one... Other Hofoers are saying it'll be rereleased, but you might have to pick one up aftermarket.

One of the best flip phones is the V635. But, unfortunately Cingular does not carry this phone. If you can buy it online, that would be very similar to your E815. If you want a phone from Cingular, go for the MPX220. The processor is unbelievable fast on this phone.

It's a swivel, not a flip but its more compact than a candybar - check out the s710a.

How does the razor compare to the nokia 6102 as far as call quality and other basic stuff? I honestly feel like I would end up droping the razor and breaking it or something, but I also hear the 6102 is kind of flimsy, but I'm not too sure. any help?

I hear what your saying. I'm just going all off of other people's posts, I'm still using t-mo for the next week or 2 so I don;t have experience with cingular phones and am just trying to get some advise. I see you have the phone - how do you ilke it?

One of the thinner nokias :0

but unfortunately cingular doesn't sell these beats anymore

Thanks everyone for your recommendations. I ended up getting an Audiovox SMT5600, which is not actually a flip phone. I didn't really like the selection of flip phones that I saw in the store
