Just curious if anyone knows how to transfer sounds that you recorded on your phone and set them as ringtones or message alerts (for the 8100). I had a 7000 and sent all of my recorded sounds to my 8100. They loose sound quality once I e-mail them from my phone. And I don't want to convert these all ready crappy sounds with bitpim and loose more quality. Anyway to transfer them from one folder on the phone to another folder on the phone. Any advice would be great thanks.

This worked on my 8100:

1. Using BitPim transfer the sound you want to make into a ringtone to your computer. My Sounds can be found on your phone in brew/16452/ms

2. Change the name of the sound from XXXXX.qcp to XXXXX.mid

3. Copy the sound back to brew/16452/lk/mr on your phone.

4. On your phone, delete my_ringtone.dat and my_ringtonesize.dat located in dload.

5. Restart your phone.

As far as I can tell there's no sound quality lost when you transfer sounds with BitPim.
