Activation Problems Today

I'm writing this simply to vent my frustration as today was the last day of the month and if it could go wrong today, it usually did...
For the better half of the day, say from opening till around 6ish we were unable to activate anything, pre-paid, go phones, anything...opus would activate just fine, but the number wouldn't move to care, meaning of course that nothing works...
this bothers me because its the last day of the month and i had 7 activations today i could have done...i was only able to do 2 of them...i'll get those other 5 for next month without question but WHY does it take Cingular 8 hours to fix a damn problem...i mean unable to activate, whats so difficult that it takes so freaking long...
the entire miami market was down, yet nobody tells anyone at credit and activations so we're calling like idiots asking to manually activate, only to have that not work either...
Cingular needs to do a better job of handling such things, there was no weather related difficulties today, no sudden surge in store traffic, nothing that i saw on a store level that would have cut the switch speed to practically a non-existent flow...
i really just think it sucks that its the last day of the month and here i can see the excellence level in my sights and i can't do it simply because *** doesn't work right....
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh....so aggravating
i can just see the powers that be thinking oh well, we still have the web site....just thought i'd whine a little...

In this business, Murhy's Law IS the law. I know how you feel.

Problems like this were one of the things I had hoped cingular would fix when they bought at&t.
Quit honestly it appears cingulars IT sucks even more than at&t's.
How these large companies get along with such a crappy IT infrastructure is beyond me.
