Even though iunlock did a good job updating my phone from 4.43, they do not tell you that you will lose the Cingular-configured AIM application in the main menu.

I am now left with a more stable phone, with no AIM app in the main menu. Evan at iunlock recommended a 3rd party IM client, but these won't work "in the background" like the one that ships with 4.43 via Cingular.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to get back the OEM IM client app, or have a suitable replacement app that works in the same way (ie., keeps you online even when not actively in the application)?

Any info appreciated.
