Do any cingular users use the motorola v635? Is it any good? It seems to have a lot of features like most new moto phones, but is the quality any good?

What is the reception like? Has anyone had any problems using it with Cingular? Where can I find it for a cheap price? ($220 or less)

Based on the experience that I've had with it, the V635 is an okay phone. It's about on par with the V551. Signal reception is about average for the V series motorola phones. I didn't have any issues worth mentioning here.

As far as where to buy it, you'll have to try ebay or one of the sites selling unlocked GSM equipment, since no carrier (that I know of) carries that phone here in the US. Correct me if I'm wrong about the previous sentence.

I hope this help you out.

I have the v635, its a great phone.... I purchased it, it came unlocked as most do and I just popped in my cingular sim and off I went. Has excellent RF and sound quality... I purchased a 512 mb transflash card and loaded it with mp3's. The bluetooth 1.2 is flawless. Has a great feel to the phone, very solid and most of the phone is a thin steel. The camera is excellent as it is a megapixal camera. Only downsides, the memory is hard to get to its under the front faceplate, you have to enter in all of the cingular media net setting and mms settings yourself, there are tutorials here on HOFO and everytime you check your VM from the phone you get a weird text message, there is supposed to be a fix for this, but I never took the time to fix it. Othere then those this is a great phone that should have been released in the US, but wasn't. I purchased mine off ebay for $180 plus shipping, and it came with data cable, case and bunch of other things.

if you want to get rid of the weird text message after you check your voicemail; go to cingular store and ask for a free upgrade 64K SIM card. It solved the issue with my unbranded/unlocked phone.

probably cause all the unbranded world phones i've owned did that to me. Just make sure to get 64k card. The V635 will likely to have the extra text message after voicemail
