Best Phone For Holding Cingular Signal

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: gaming_mouse

I'm using a Samsung E315 now. I get good reception in my house, but the phone cycles when I'm not using it and sometimes it will say "No Service" and then returns to having 5 bars after a minute. This happens regularly.

Is there a particular phone that will hold the signal and avoid this problem?

Thanks for any advice,
gm

Try a Nokia....

Nokia's are very good with RF performance.

As I've said before in previous threads (or I thought I've said), E315 is a 900/1900 phone. You should go for a 850/1900 phone with Cingular. 850 and 900 are different bands.

And 900 is not used in north america at all.

For reception, Nokia. Hands down.

I have had several Cingular phones. Of all the phones, Razr is the best for reception. Nokia 6230 was very good too, but Razr has been the best for me. I hated the Cingular C1100. That was junk.

Another vote for Nokia. I have a 6010, a 3595, and an old 6340i, all of which get excellent reception.

razr works like a charm for me.

The Nokia 6102 is supposed to be really good as well. Somebody that works for Cingular said on this board somewhere that the Cingular technicians said that the Nokia 6102 is the best for Cingular reception right now.

I vote for my LG C2000. I get perfect reception inside all metal buildings with it, and I haven't dropped a call yet. (that's not saying much since I've only had the phone since Friday)

It's so strange, my Razr had decent reception, but in my house, I would go from having a few to 0 bars. A nokia was the only type of phone I could use in my house. Then after Hurricane Rita hit my area(which I think is just a coincidence), I told my Razr that I was going to trade him in for a new phone, and he started to get me full coverage in my house!
