black v3

hi
i am curious can u see missed calls on the out screen on the black v3 and can u also see missed or if u have any text messages.

Yea you can see both.

On my razr (~2 months old), you can't see anything other than the time on the outside screen unless you push one of the side buttons. Then the outer display lights up and you can see whether you missed calls, have voicemail, etc. But until you push that button, you can barely see the time and nothing else. It's a pain.

that is the point. if you had that color display on with back light all the time, you'd kill the battery

Maybe it's the smoked glass on the outside. Who knows.

I had a v400 before this and could see the outside screen without it being "lit." The v3's outside screen sucks for this reason.

the v400's outside screen is a monoLCD while the RAZR's is a color LCD. Color LCD screens are usually not TFT so they look washed out and require white backlights

Both outside and inside screens on the RAZR are TFT displays. This make the outside display somewhat glare resistant. Monochromes are easy to see at any time granted but at night the color LCD looks very pretty.
