Unlocked Nokia 3120 Questions

Okay, here's the story.

My dad and I are on a family shared plan. We had AT&T Wireless, but obviously Cingular and AT&T Merged. We had our AT&T plan and such working fine, with our old phones, for a few months.

Well, my dad's phone broke, and he needed to get a new one. Since we could no longer get AT&T Equipment, we had to change our plan over to a Cingular plan.

Well, this meant that my old AT&T Phone that I really liked, Nokia 3120, wouldn't work anymore, so my dad bought two Nokia 6010s. I called Cingular to see what was up, and they explained to me why it wouldn't work, so I did some Google searching and found out how to unlock my old Nokia 3120 from AT&T's network.

So I did. I can now use my Nokia 3120 on Cingular and whatever other network I wish to use it with. However, I have a few question's regarding this.

1: Everything seems to be working great, except that I cannot get on the internet with the phone. It says "Authentication Failed" and doesn't work. I've tried googleing the information I need to get the web working on it, and I even got the information from the Nokia 6010 that was bought, but still no luck. I think the problem is in the Access Point used (I have it set for wap.cingular) or the Username and Password (I am not sure what they are.) How can I obtain this information? Obviously the reason I need to enter this manually is because the phone, since it was originally an AT&T phone before it was unlocked, was set up for mMode.

2: Another web question, there is a setting on my phone that is called "GPRS Connection" with the options of "Always Online" or "When Needed." With mMode, this was set to Always Online, so a "G" would always appear above my signal bar. Obviously this didn't do anything, and I was never charged unless I acually used the internet, but I am not sure if this is the same with Cingular. If that option is set to "Always online" instead of "When needed" will it make any difference?

Thank you for your help.

Thank's for the information. However, does anyone here know the answer to Quesiton #2? I've always had it set to "Always Online" but if I am going to get charged or anything for that (even though I am not technically using the internet, the connection is just ready) I will want to disable that.

Thanks!

no charge cause u are charged by the byte not by the time online

Your phone will send keep-alive packets, which you'll be charged for.
