Well, maybe 1/2 an episode on a 16 MB stick ...

This is an interesting toy for the P800 -- I may go the gamut and try it -- any thoughts? I know one can do all kinds of conversions on the PC with video, but this seems to just do it directly ... I just wonder if the audio CODEC needed for P800 is also the same ...

Nice find Jeff. If you want to conver on your computer, you can use VirtualDub with the DivX 5.0 codec. There is a setting for MP4 with the AAC sound. Just make sure that you have the right bitrate, resolution, and fps as stated in my review.

I have Virtual Dub and was using it to encode "step one" of the 2 step process needed for my (former) Clie NR & NX 70v for Divx films. I will try VirtualDub today with your mentioned settings, but I think I'll also buy one of those Zaururs things (I've since now seen it cheaper on E-Bay), and just see how that does it. It's just so easy to pop a stick in, pull it out, and it's on there! (THEN I may have a need for another Duo!!)

I think we are a long way from watching video on the p800, until sony beefs up the dua, i think a 1/2 hour of video might fit on a 64mb duo

Sten,

Well, at least the ad for this unit says this --

"High Compression MPEG-4 recording mode can record up to 2 hours of video (160X120 resolution) using a 64MB memory card"

So, we should be able to get 1/2 hour on a 16MB, no? I will also try VirtualDub and see how good I can get it.

Jeff
