Sorry if this question has been asked before....

Why do GSM phones cause buzzing sound in landline phones?
This does not happen when using a CDMA/TDMA/analog phone...

Are u on 900 Mhz Freq??????? U r probley using 900Mhz Freg..........Note: Cordless phone use same freq....jus a diff type...I dont know the exact Difference.......I can be in the Comp room on my house fone and my cell all the way in the other end of the house on the charger beside my base for house fone and I know when someones is calling me cuz my fone starts buzzing.....:-).....(I am on 800Mhz TDMA at my house on Roam on PSC Wireless system) At my Best friends house I am on Cingular 1900 TDMA and No buzzing happens........

On my T68i with AT&T I hear the buzzing sometimes, and I'll sometimes hear it through my computer speakers. WEIRD huh?

my computer monitor gets interferance when about 3 seconds before my phone rings.

It's not just GSM phones that create that sound; TDMA phones create that buzzing as well. My Nokia 8260, my Ericsson T18z, and my Motorola V60t had that problem.

This has been brought up before, but I can't remember if it was ever answered.

Yea my friend's 3360 makes his stereo in his car buzz so loud.

It happens with TDMA, GSM, and iDEN phones. It's related to the pulsed signal of Time Division based systems, which on devices that aren't well shielded (which are many if not most), it causes the audible sounds in speakers (and can cause flickers in monitors).

No cordless phone is supposed to be operating in the same frequency as a cellular phone, as cordless phones should only be operating in a piece of spectrum specifically issued for that purpose, and cell phones operate in their own licensed spectrum.

Among the Internet chaf, this is the correct answer. TDMA systems (like GSM) send out RF "bursts". These bursts induce currents in any nearby wiring which express themselves as a buzzing sound.
