If I buy an unused AT&T SIM off eBay can I activate an OGO?

Will this work or has Cingular been extra-draconian about Ogo activations?

Cingular is no longer activating Ogo's at all. There is a private individual who is coordinating active swaps from people giving up Ogo's and those wanting to get one. That is the only way to obtain a working Ogo at this time.

where would this private individual be...

Here is the website for the active swapOgo Active Swap

Current Status: 10 ActiveSwap match intros made - 46 waiting for active ogos.

It should be 47 now...oh dear perhaps he's given up or maybe just slow

Or Cingular can just offer us Unlimited Text for a small fee.. yeah right..

well when i deactivated my ogo, the cingular person said all i had to do was call to reactivate the sim.

Posted by: NotPennState

hey miztah, can you try that and then i'll buy it from you?

Thats how I got my Ogo activated...

I called in June I believe, and they said that I missed some deadline. I'd go for it now though.

Posted by: miztahsparklez

ill see if i can go activate it again, but my ogo is almost brand new.. hell it even has the plastic still on the thing. haha!

Posted by: r0guenj

how does the swap work? is there some payment involved for it? (i can't see the site from work for some reason)

i have a sealed ogo that i want to get rid of.

the ogo must be activated already. and if you cancelled service, you must reactivate it within 180 days to reinstate the account.
