6102 As Prepaid

I'm looking to replace my wife's Tmo prepaid with Cingular and have priced the Nokia 6102 at corporate stores ($225). Also looked at LetsTalk which has a much better price ($150). When I tried to order the phone online at LetsTalk, it requires an existing Cingular account/number before you can complete the order. If I were to go to a Cing corporate store and buy a prepaid SIM, would that provide me with everything I need to complete the order at LetsTalk? I hate to pass up the good price there.

Keep in mind that if you just activate a SIM, you may get charged an activation fee. In addition, it takes from three to five days from activation for the number to reflect in the account, so you will still have to wait a few days before you can buy the phone from LetsTalk.

Good point. Thanks.
It sounds like there is no quick and easy solution.

I was in a store yesterday and the 6102 was $189 for a go-phone prepay plan...so not sure if you meant the $225 was too much or not, but that's at least in between the $150 and $225...might be worth the $40 to not have to deal w/ a web vendor...

Letstalk in the past few days got some good customer feedback in issue resolution with Cingular. You might want to search and read that, if you haven't already.
