LG 8100 Data cable question

Hi All,
Does anyone know if the USB cables for the LG 8000 will work with the LG8100? I seem to recall reading that they did work, but I'd like to verify. I got a hint from another thread conversation about accstation. I see a cable there for $9.99, located Here that I was wondering if it would work.
From my experience with the LG4400, I learned to stay away from cables that had the converter box in the middle (as this cable does). Also, I'd like a cable that implements the charging function, so the phone's battery can charge while I txfr stuff.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, that is good to know. I just had another heart-warming conversation with Verizon Tech Support. It can be disheartening when you know more than the person with whom you are speaking.
I take it that your cable was purchased from Verizon? The only cable I can find (outside of RPIWireless)that states that it supports the 8100 is from Sunsteen (DataPilot).
I can txfr with Bluetooth/Bitpim. Sometimes BT requires a bit of abck and forth, but it works OK. I wanted the cable just in case and so I can do it everywhere.
Thanks,
Earl

I bought a cable that's supposed to work for 6100 and 7000 to use with this phone. The only reason why I knew it would work was because of this forum. If you look for an 8100 cable on ebay they'll charge you a lot more. Search for a 6100 or 7000 cable, and you'll get the same cable at a cheaper price.

yes, i have a verizon cable. Ive used other cables in the past but this one has held up the best. It doesnt fit when brand new because of the lil tabs on it but u can sand them down a lil and it fits right in. Mine was so worn from my 6000 that it slid right in.

I'd totally skip the cable and get a Bluetooth dongle. It's sweet.
