After reading alot and seeing how many questions there is regarding this im surprise there isnt a thread so i decided to start one comparing the cell phone makers, although there maybe certain models made by each company that stand out as a whole you know what to expect from a nokia versus a motorola, sort of like a cell phone stereotype. so ill set it up like this and everybody who has good info regarding this which will be helpful to others and not just fanboy diss garbage by all means, help your cellular brothers lol, pretty much like general stuff, like as a whole the RF quality, build quality, cam quality say of a 1.3mp nokia vs a 1.3 mp samsung vs 1.3mp SE, also ear peice volume, speaker volume ringtone volume, menu layout menu speed and anything else im forgetting, basically compare and contrast, what does a nokia do well vs a samsung, moto or se considering all things equal in each phone, what does a samsung do well or not do well, moto, se, and only recently not samsung rf used to be awesome, how is it now, how are nokia's offerings now, how are moto's now, not two years ago
Nokia
cam quality characteristics, rf quality (as a whole not a particular model), sound quality, build quality or durability, battery life etc etc

Opinions will vary with this, but I'll try it out
Nokia
Cameras tend to be middle of the road. VGA cameras above the rest but megapixel cameras can't compete with some of the other companies.
Rf quality is usually high across the board.
Build quality varies across line. Some feel/look cheap, others feel/look great. Ability to swap covers on most phones allow for cosmetic fixing.
UI is generally very simple and very quick. Not known for customizations.
Motorola
Cam quality across the board is subpar. This has been remidied in some more recent models.
Rf quality varies but alot of their more recent phones have been pretty good.
Sound quality and ringtone volume can be improved with edits, some people complain of hissing.
Battery life varies by phone.
Durability is above average. This does not stand for some of the fashion phones (V3, V80).

that was perfect, thanks for taking the time to do that man, i just thought it would be a good idea because i read a bunch of threads where basically people are asking should i get a samsung or a motorola or whatever, and you should pick based on what is more important to you not what some other guy likes, its kinda absurd sometimes when a guy is like i need a camera phone that i can go on the internet with or something, and these people like on command like a trained doberman just bark, k750, k750, 6682, 6682, its only 500 dollars now and has no 850 but get it, lol, everybody doesnt need autofocus or symbian, some people are willing to give up camera quality for earpiece volume or whatever, but you were pretty dead on though, i notice that the motorola cam quality is pretty horrible, especially the worst i saw is the nextel camera phones and the mpx 220 my brother has, that camera is horrible the v551 cam is better, what about the samsungs and the sony ericssons though, anybody?

Sony Ericsson
Typically good in the camera department with their megapixels. S700 set the bar, now the K750/W800i are generally accepted as the best GSM camera phones on the mass market.
UI is generally accepted as very good. Screen quality is usually above par with SE phones
Rf can vary by model, but I haven't heard many complaints from the recent phones.
Samsung
Megapixel cameras were good when they came out, now people may expect something better.
UI, hard to say, not plain and simple, but not everly complicated, somewhere in the middle, above motorola but below SE
Rf varies, but they aren't known for doing a stellar job at it.
Cheap plastic clamshell seems to be the theme for alot of their phones,
Speakerphone just recently being added, aswell as bluetooth
Screens are usually very high quality on the upper division mobiles, medium quality on the midrange mobiles
Sharp
Stellar camera performance in most conditions (902 could be considered an exception, but peoples expectations were set to high).
Stellar screens on the mid to higher end models
UI not the greatest, very boring, not very intuitive
Rf isn't the best
Phones usually built solid. Battery life can be a problem on some models. Usually ahead of the game as far as features in the GSM world.

yeah the sharp rf aint bad for the tm150 i got, but not as good as a 3595 but it has 850 and the sharp is 900 but i think they aint bad, ui is never a big issue to me, i like to play with the phones i got and i figured it out with no manual in like a day or two, i heard and read that nec n840 is supposed to be an awesome cam phone and its quadband i think
