So I have my resume on Monster trying to get out of this sh*t hole and I get an email Saturday explaining how my qualifications seem to be a good match for a sales position with Cingular Wireless...

Hello! I already work here! I'm trying to get out! How about reading my resume before contacting me???? Hmmm...sounds so logical yet beyond their grasp. I am surrounded by the biggest morons in the industry.

Reasons I want out:

It's funny, our regional manager comes in and ridicules us all day long and then yells at the district manager in meetings in front of sales representatives. The guy has absolutely no social skills at all. It's like working in a comunist country with a gun to your head. Then I get an email from our regional vice president asking for ways that Cingualr can "improve employee relations and become the #1 company to work for." You can start by firing our regional, paying us, giving us a reason to like coming to work...maybe be friendly to your employees Let us sell our way and quit shoving this secret-shopping crap down our throats!

The future of Cingular will be robots that ask you a series of questions and spit out offers that in no way match what your looking for. Of course they will use phrases such as "'largest mobile to mobile community in North America" and "with Cingular's Allover Network, you can travel the entire country and not pay for roaming or long distance fees." It's funny if you imagine a robot's monotone electronic voice and then maybe the robot gets stuck....
"With Cingular's Allover Network....With Cingular's Allover Network...With Cingular's Allover Network....With Cingular's Allover Network..." and robot catches fire.

Did you ever consider they might have contacted you regarding a different position?

Says sales position in the e-mail and besides, they could call or send me an email to my corporate email account. Why would they solicit an employee through Monster?

Too funny! Did you ever look around and think to yourself, "My life is a living Dilbert cartoon"?

It's amazing to me that you might be shocked that Cingular is looking for someone with your quilifications. They did hire you in the first place. Job sites like Moster put all the resumes into certain categories. Then companies send you information from there. With you already being a Cingular rep, you know for SURE there isn't some old lady flipping through online resumes and taking them to Mr Cingular for final approval for job offers. They are using their recrutment budgetas effienciently as possible for a company of their size. It wouldn't be America if people didn't complain about thier jobs.

Not shocked that they are looking for someone with my qualifications, shocked that they didn't see that I was already employed there. There is a logon for employers so my assumption is that they search resumes. Now maybe it's an automated response that sees "wireless" in my resume title and sends me an email but it's still lazy if you ask me. And we do have an HR department, we have people who put resumes online at cingular.com and they are looked at by HR staff...not sure if they are old or not???
