2 questions Limited Mp3s and ringtones

I just got the VX8100 and a 512 card. I loaded a hundred plus songs and only 79 was read. I restarterd the phone and same thing. I check the card and the other songs where there but the phone wasn't reading it?

Also to create the ringtones do I need the data cable. Some of the threads says yes some says no. From my understand, I need to data cable to over write the phone to read the mp3s?

Yes, you need the data cable to to use MP3's as ring tones. Your Mps that arent displayed are either too long of a file name, or they are not in mp3 format.
