I'm interested in picking one up but there's such a variety to choose from so I would like some recommendations.

So, if you own one, please tell me your experience with yours and what you would recommend!

i have a monster iplay, the newest one from them(i say that because i know there's an older version)

i have to admit this thing works great. 3 programmable buttons that you can tune in all fm ranges and it charges your ipod at the same time.

now some people might suggest direct hook up to your car or a cassette thing. reasons why i didnt go with those is:
-my car's a POS and i dont tihnk it's worth spending money for a direct hook up system
-i dont have a cassette deck

sound quality honestly is very good too. just find a station not being used and you're set.

i did some reading on ilounge and decided to pick this up: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/New...ogy/ROADTRIPLS/

doing the reading, i heard good info about that monster iplay and also this kensington one, but theyre double the cost of the newtech roadtrip

well, if i'm not satisfied with it (30 day money back guarantee)

For my ipod mini, I used an AirPlay from griffin or something like that. It's about 39 bucks but really simple to use, no need long cables and battery, just snap in and go. But it will dried out your battery faster since it's powered by your ipod. Last summer, I used it all the way from LA to SF (about 6-7 hours drive) and the sound quality is actually better than when I play with my earplugs.

The RoadTrip+ arrived!

It sounds a tad flat and there is practically no bass, but it's bearable. For $30, I don't see much reason to complain.

i picked up a 17 dollar one at target that works okay...it's called the SiLink fm transmitter--but it's only 17 bucks so don't expect stellar sound

I got a Griffen AirPlay, the sound is not too bad but not very good, It was fun finding a station because in my area every band from about 88.1 to 107.7 is taken, I just put it on 88.7 and it comes in pretty clear. It sounds a little worse than standard radio.

had an itrip. hated it
* no matter how nice you encode your mp3s, the best they'll ever sound is like fm...
* couldn't really find a really good empty station: just way too much airwave static in my area

* covered the hold switch
* impossibly difficult to change stations on the go

got fed up and just sold everything including the ipod; went back to mp3 cds
next time around, i would probably just hack a hardwire connection to the aux inputs

i got an itrip and an airclick

the itrip provides decent sound....

too bad they aren't stackable... so i stick with the airclick... as it's more useful while driving

I would recommend the DLO Transpod. I got one for my wife (my iPod is hard-wired), and was very surprised at how good it sounded. It won't sound as good as a direct connection, but it works surprisingly well.
